Landmark Zaragoza Producers

A Ferran Centelles article for JancisRobinson.com

It was an absolute honour to be named as a landmark producer in our adopted region of Aragon by Ferran Centelles in his recent article for JancisRobinson.com and to have achieved such outstanding scores. Ferran’s tasting notes and descriptions are always thoughtful and evocative.

Ferran Centelles has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the world of wine. We first met him around 20 years ago, when he was working at El Bulli, where he listed our Manga del Brujo and described Norrel as a “wine maverick.” He remains involved with the El Bulli Foundation and for some years has also been a contributor to JancisRobinson.com. A few months ago, he carried out an extensive tasting of wines from Aragón together with Raúl Igual, sommelier at Yain restaurant in Teruel. The tasting was conceived as a celebration of the region’s wines and their growing reputation.

In the forthcoming edition of The World Atlas of Wine, Aragón — and more specifically the province of Zaragoza — will finally have its own dedicated map, something Ferran has championed for many years.

We are grateful for Ferran’s continued support and for his commitment to highlighting the unique character and potential of Aragon’s wines. You can read the full article here (subscription only) but we’ll leave you with a little taste below…

Here are the notes for the four wines we sent in for the tasting:
