With the bottling of 2021 Manga del Brujo Tinto, we have begun our transition to a lighter bottle.
As Jancis Robinson stated in this article back in February this year, “It’s now an established fact that making and transporting glass bottles are the biggest components in wine’s carbon footprint.”
We are very conscious of our carbon footprint and our previous bottles were made with 88% recycled glass but we decided that we wanted to go further so, over the coming bottlings, we will be changing most of our range to a lighter bottle, reducing glass content from 650g to 445g per bottle. This almost 32% reduction in glass, a 24% reduction in the overall transport weight of the product, and will contribute to a reduction in CO2 emissions created during transport.
